As soon as Sensations' Fix formed (early 70s) they began creating demo tracks to be included in two specific albums: "Fragments Of Light" and the self-titled Sensation's Fix (with the incorrect spelling), both released in 1974. The sound of "Fragments Of Light" starts off brilliantly by naturally embracing space rock and, at the same time, German rock, to the point where some critics compare it to certain krautrock exponents. By analyzing the cover, one can immediately infer the undisputed and completely experimental soul of the album: a slightly saturated sunset, black clouds as if to symbolize space, a very dark landscape at the bottom left, and an inscription at the bottom right that reads “If the loser finds the receiver became a winner” represent the wonderful cover, whose photo was taken by Carla Pallini, photographer of almost all the band's album covers. The album kicks off with the title track: introduced by a guitar with a folk sound, a synthesizer joins in, along with a drum with the typical 70s sound, teleporting us to another dimension, or better yet, into deep space. Midway through the song, a very clean guitar solo appears out of nowhere, suggesting to the listener the imminent fusion between psychedelia and electronics, leading to a harmonious finale. It continues with "Nuclear War In Your Brain," a moral victory for Falsini in electronic experimentation, almost a precursor to the solo album "Cold Nose (Naso Freddo)", which he would release just a year later: it must be said that another of Falsini’s strengths is ambient music, and this track is perhaps the first example of his career. The climax is reached with the third track, "Music Is Painting In The Air": the track is a blues that spills into the best minimal/electronic contaminations. According to some statistics, it is considered the group's signature song, so much so that it was used as the title of the same-named 2012 collection released by RVNG, "Music Is Painting In The Air (1974-77)," which encapsulates the band's most active period. Also, the track, like "Fragments Of Light," has been rearranged: in the remake album of the old pieces "Flying Tapes", released in 1978, there is a remix with the addition of drums played by Edwards, and keyboards played by Stephen Head, a member who would be present from the fourth album onwards, "Finest Finger", from 1976. The track would later be included in the aforementioned collection under the name "Music Is Painting". After various tracks with a psychedelic tone, another blues resurfaces called "Do You Love Me", the first track sung entirely by Falsini, with the presence of musicians' choruses. Lyrics in English, dark atmosphere, borderline minimal keyboard riff. Two closing tracks follow, "Life Beyond The Darkness" and "Telepathic Children", which manage to maintain the continuity of the space rock-krautrock-prog-experimental-ambient-electronics of the album. Considering the fact that Sensations' Fix released two demo albums and one of new material, "Portable Madness", in just one year, we must realize that twelve months for three albums is very little in terms of production: in fact, the album, as well as the subsequent "Sensation's Fix", suffered in terms of technical sound management, so much so that many tracks - including "Do You Love Me?", "Space Energy Age", and a good part of the experimental pieces - give a confused character of the context. Not only did the album fail to achieve the hoped-for success, despite being called at the time "the first Italian space rock album", but it was harshly criticized due to the means by which it was produced. In fact, Polydor had suitable means for a decent, if not good production of the album, but probably the rush to incorporate demo tracks into the album determined its quality. Sensations' Fix were labeled as foreign enthusiasts in the book "Libro Bianco Sul Pop In Italia", where they were even compared to English bands of the time when obviously the sound of Sensations' Fix was clearly inspired by the German one. The album was subsequently reissued on LP in the same year of its release and in 1992 on CD. And like other albums of the group, it was reissued in a remastered CD version and included in the collection "Progressive Italia Anni 70' - The Universal Collection", published in 2010.

It feels like being catapulted into a lunar landscape, rich in stars, from which it is impossible to detach.

A triumph for the synthesizer, which is as expressive and divine as ever.
