Seals & Crofts were an American soft-rock duo composed of James Seals and Darrell "Dash" Crofts, best known for 1970s records blending folk, pop and country influences with close vocal harmonies and prominent mandolin/guitar interplay.

Members: James (Jim) Seals (guitar, vocals) and Darrell 'Dash' Crofts (mandolin, vocals). They were commercially successful in the 1970s, worked with Los Angeles session musicians (including David Paich and members who later formed Toto), released about fifteen albums, and were adherents of the Bahá'í Faith.

Two reviews on DeBaser highlight Seals & Crofts as a 1970s American soft-rock duo with excellent musicianship and harmonies. Critics note a mix of easy-listening soft rock and occasional instrumental or compositional gems (guitar/mandolin duets). Religious themes and top Los Angeles session players are recurring points in the reviews.

For:Fans of 1970s soft rock, acoustic folk-pop, melodic harmonies and tasteful session production.

The mandolin can be an irresistible instrument, with a penetrating yet sweet, very sonorous voice.
