LA RECENSIONE

Appetite comes with eating, a saying that the Piedmontese Screaming Eyes seem to know very well considering the speed with which they have been producing in recent times.

Starting under the protective wings of Ettore Rigotti (who produced their debut EP “Still Breathing”), the group later found in Becko (Hopes Die Last) the right person to entrust with the fate of their debut album, released in 2011 and titled “Greed”. A solid record where modern metal went hand in hand with the Nordic school and metalcore, opening up various paths for them and leading them to play beyond national borders.

Today, Screaming Eyes are back with “For Whom The Sins Are Over”, another mini that resumes where its predecessor left off. In the midst of a constantly evolving process, the Turin combo entrusts just three tracks with the task of giving new impulses to the listener, which is not easy given the narrow scope of the proposed genre. Thus, there is room for granite-like riffs, a powerful rhythm section, a voice that has significantly strengthened over time, and a production that is simply perfect in highlighting the sounds. The desire to emerge is strong, and the attention to detail is evident, which differentiates Screaming Eyes from the usual disposable bands seeking attention. Of course, it is always difficult to understand the reasons behind the release of only three tracks, especially considering that these songs are likely to end up on a future album.

Giving a final opinion, there is nothing more to say: we are facing a band that has everything it takes to do well; let's allow them to mature calmly and we might have very pleasant surprises.
