LA RECENSIONE

From Montreal, here are Scarfold, a band that in the new mini "Divide Decline" takes us straight back to the dawn of the New Millennium, where hardcore began to be heavily contaminated by metal, soon leading to the fateful metalcore. Compared to what's circulating nowadays, it's fair to say that this quartet knows exactly what it means to get straight to the point, skillfully navigating the more "hard" side of the genre itself. Ruthless riffing and a rhythm section alternating neck-breaking four-four time with easily catchy live breakdowns, "Divide Decline" finds its strength in the vocals and the various guests featured in each track, smoothly transitioning from furious screams to rapped parts and choruses. All in all, not bad for six tracks (considering the fact the band has been active for less than two years) somewhere between Biohazard, Ramallah, and Blood For Blood, stuff for the hard-hearted indeed... All that's left is to wait for the debut album for a more exhaustive evaluation!
