The Savatage... One of the most underrated bands of all time... Their discography is of an outstanding quality level with the peaks of "Gutter Ballet" and "Streets". I recommend to anyone who doesn't know them to seek out their discography and listen to all the albums especially from "Gutter Ballet" onwards because we are really talking about a great rock-metal band.
"Fight for the rock" was released in 1986 and it is the fourth album of the Florida quartet. It is undoubtedly the weakest episode of their discography, by their own admission, and after its release and the subsequent tour there was even the risk that the band would break up.
The album is marked by poor production, mainly due to two English managers who did everything but help the band get noticed in Europe. The only songs worth a closer listen are "Lady in disguise" where you can hear something of what Savatage will become in the future, and "Fight for the rock" which despite everything turns out to be quite powerful.
In conclusion, an album to have only after listening to all the others, so as not to risk forming a negative opinion of one of the best bands the metal scene has offered us.
