Samson are a British heavy metal band formed in 1977 by guitarist Paul Samson and associated with the NWOBHM. Early lineups featured drummer Thunderstick and vocalist Bruce Dickinson (then credited as Bruce Bruce). The group’s foundational albums—Survivors, Head On, and Shock Tactics—cemented their reputation; Paul Samson died in 2002.
