LA RECENSIONE

Personally, I affix the fateful 5 stars to their chest! I had listened to the first 3 works of Samla Mammas Manna, which I found very interesting, and with this collaboration, they confirm my appreciation by playing a virtuosic, extravagant, circus-like, humorous, Zappa-esque, Dadaist, folkloric, joyful, inspired, complex yet accessible, varied, kaleidoscopic, unpredictable prog rock that knows how to blend the North with the East. I've run out of adjectives, and I believe it is clear that I really like this album a lot, and Ron Geesin adds that extra flavor just like when I simmer the leek for risotto with dry Marsala instead of the usual white wine. The album is a live recording from 1975 of a Swedish radio program that manages to convey the deep flavor of music unfiltered by the recording studio. I imagine the concert audience smiling during their performance while drinking beer... High-quality recording for a spectacular and irreverent concert with hilarious vocal exercises of contagious liveliness. For RIO enthusiasts, an absolute must-have album, for everyone else, an experience that adds that extra sizzle to your summer barbecues.
