Well, Salmo returns with his new album "Midnite" which has given me a lot to think about.

The album itself is very good, apart from a few minor flaws and two major issues that I will discuss later. Salmo, in fact, is not a rapper but a musician and as such needs more time to release good work. Although this album is a decidedly better work than "Death usb", a semi-complete work released to ride the wave of momentary success, it is still put together somewhat haphazardly. It is indeed notable the divide between the first part of the album, characterized by beats with the machete sound, and the second in which the beats are more simple and "Old school".

There is no need to even discuss the lyrics since they are absolutely fantastic and true to his style, for example, there are numerous quotations, the only serious flaw from this point of view is "Faraway" which in my opinion is completely out of style. From the aggressive Salmo I expected anything except a love song. The feats. are all good, I particularly liked "Sadico" with Mezzosangue, the only possible criticism is that there are a bit too many but they are no less appreciable for that reason.

In conclusion, it is a good job but it could be excellent if a bit more thought out. The divide in the album is the only serious flaw and makes the album good but not excellent.

Salmo smashes everything and everyone, showcasing his remarkable skills: smooth and direct flow, lyrics full of quotes and references, and a unique approach to the mic.

An album that finds its cohesiveness in its heterogeneity. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
