THE REVIEW

Second official album. Exceptional tracks, diverse from one another, but powerfully exploring the rock scene, connected by a personal, eclectic, and engaging sound, where everything is perfectly in harmony.

The album flows pleasantly without ever tiring, on the contrary, leaving you wanting to listen to it again. The music of Saint Lips, in my opinion, comes from the soul and reaches the soul, in a record crafted with passion, honesty, and professionalism. Visibly influenced by the sounds of bands like Pixies, or Breeders, rather than Smashing Pumpkins, going through the classic rock of the Rolling Stones, and sprinkled with touches of Pj Harvey and Blondie to which the excellent singer has been compared by Bp Fallon on his radio show regarding the single “Little Sister”.

Besides the two singles “Saviour” and “Little Sister” indeed, beautiful pop results, in the best connotation of the term, currently in rotation on Italian and American televisions and radios (having been released with the label No More Fake Labels), I find it seriously difficult to choose tracks that are better than others because they are all of excellent level and all fundamental and well sequenced to compose an effective and pleasant rock gem. I can say that among my favorites are certainly “Summer Rain”, the refined ballad “39 Stars” and “Fertile”. “Wake Up” is perhaps one of the tracks that represents them the most, “A Hope” is dreamy and it is from here that, in my opinion, the album truly takes shape, thrilling, accompanying you in one breath on an intense journey between past and future.

“White Fly”, “Land”, “Angel”, reaching “Losin’ Control” where the journey from fast-paced and punk takes a vaguely psychedelic turn. “Fertile” is beautiful, the voice is perfect. And here we come to the last track “Yourself”, strong, decisive, which seems to pave a new path towards the bright future of this young band. That has moved me, surprised me, and certainly left a deep impression.
