Safri Duo is a Danish percussion duo known for blending classical percussion training with electronic and tribal dance music; best known for the hit "Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)".

The DeBaser review praises the duo's percussion skill and classical background, cites earlier classical-oriented releases (e.g. Bach To The Future, percussion transcriptions), and highlights Episode II's fusion of tribal percussion, electronics and trance. 'Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)' is singled out as a widely propagated, live-recorded landmark that influenced a wave of tribal-house.

DeBaser's review highly praises Safri Duo's Episode II for its blend of tribal percussion, electronics and trance. It highlights 'Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)' as a landmark, recorded live and widely propagated. The review notes classical training influences and several standout tracks. Overall recommendation: strong endorsement for fans of percussion-driven alternative dance.

For:Fans of percussion-driven electronic dance, tribal-house and classical-crossover listeners.

Propagated for almost a decade through the media (and it deserves a secure spot among the 10 most representative songs of the decade, and I won’t describe it because, damn it, you know it!), it has quite subverted the genre’s standards, especially in its progressive tempo, while still based on the typical 4/4 rhythm; and considering that it was recorded live, given the considerable length, it deserves the most heartfelt applause.
