Conceived as an apparently impossible meeting point between the parallel lives of the survivors of the shoah and those of the new generations, "# AnneFrank - Parallel Lives" reminds us of the fundamental importance of the word testimony, the only one capable of nurturing memory.
The emblem of testimony is, undoubtedly, the "Diary of Anne Frank". The entire cinematic work revolves around it, simultaneously showing the parallelism/non-parallelism between the life and accounts of young Anne Frank, the life and accounts of other women survivors of the Shoah and the impact of these stories on the lives of new generations. The three narrative planes outline a specific trajectory, not to be forgotten, which starts from the past, reaches the present, and continues straight towards the future.
Young Anne wanted to have a purpose, to be useful even after her death; her Diary and, consequently, this film do nothing but prove her success, achieving an admirable and memorable goal.
Two basic concepts emerge from watching this film: 1) the Shoah is an unforgettable stain; 2) by destroying childhood, infinite possibilities are destroyed.
