Ryuichi Sakamoto (1952–2023) was a Japanese composer, pianist and electronic musician, a founding member of Yellow Magic Orchestra and an Academy Award–winning film-score composer.

Member of Yellow Magic Orchestra; composed notable film scores including The Last Emperor (Academy Award for Best Original Score, 1987 shared); frequent collaborator with David Sylvian; active from the 1970s until his death in 2023.
