LA RECENSIONE

Who are Rosa Mota? A new revelation from the underground? A post-metal or drone group? None of that. Let's start by saying that Rosa Mota belongs to the past, the mythical '90s, which have nothing to do with metal or drone and, unfortunately, few remember their brief but intense career.

Born in Great Britain from the minds of Ian Bishop and Julie Rumsey, Rosa Mota quickly made a name for themselves with their sound in line with the most interesting proposals of the "alternative" scene over twenty years ago.

Take the Post-Punk of Sonic Youth (the "Goo" period), delicate atmospheres indebted to the Cure, blend it all with guitar attacks reminiscent of the most furious Smashing Pumpkins and you'll get a sound as beautiful as it is outdated.

Here is their mini-debut "Drag For A Drag". A product in some ways close to that of their peers Therapy?, Whipping Boy, and the more mature, at least in chronological age, Jesus & Mary Chain.

Seven tracks. Seven tracks you won't easily forget and that will accompany you with their now furious, now psychedelic stride. Try tasting the goodness of appetizers like "Baby Flower", "Cold", and "Roma". Succulent previews of what will be presented in "Wishful Sinking": their most significant album of which, perhaps, I will talk to you about in the future.

Reevaluate them as well and let them not remain, as has happened until today, just another name among the many bands that appeared in "Rumore" or "Rockerilla".
