THE REVIEW

There are albums where just one song is enough to make you fall in love with them. Then, for the sake of evaluation (since we are talking about critique and not just personal taste), the remaining songs are obviously considered as well, but the one that breaks the Heart is there and shines majestically among the others.

In the case of "Masse Mensch Material," the precious distinguishing element is strategically placed in the second position, after an introductory track with ambient characteristics, and bears the name "Der Brandtaucher"; four minutes and sixteen seconds of decadent and haunting pop folk poetry that only someone with superior creative talent, emotionally chilling, can produce. Rome confirms itself as one of the most interesting musicians discovered by the Cold Meat Industry in recent years, and even when extending the context, it must be recognized that his art is being admired by more and more listeners. All this despite a prolificacy that is becoming even more surprising, firstly noting that he has released three albums and a short work in less than two years, but more importantly considering that each time he has managed to present himself at quality levels close to perfection. And by changing soundscapes, never dramatically, but constantly shifting, moving in that land of honey and blood, memories and illusions, pain and passion, which is apocalyptic folk, which is new wave, which is post-industrial, which is dark, which is melancholic pop, which is neoclassical and neoromantic, which, specifically, is the child of an evidently keen sensitivity for writing alluring compositions that manage to be sadly captivating and serenely unforgettable.
