The Profile

Roger Glover (born 30 November 1945, Brecon, Wales) is a bassist, songwriter, and producer best known for Deep Purple and Rainbow. Beyond his band work, he produced major rock acts and released solo albums including The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast, Elements, Mask, Snapshot, and If Life Was Easy.

Bassist of Deep Purple; worked with Rainbow; produced artists such as Nazareth, Judas Priest, and Status Quo; creator of the single “Love Is All” from The Butterfly Ball.

A glowing take on Roger Glover’s The Butterfly Ball: a 1974 studio opus born from a children’s book, with star vocal turns and the hit “Love Is All.” The review recalls the 1975 Royal Albert Hall concert, the film with Vincent Price narration, and Glover’s shift toward production. Deep Purple and Rainbow ties abound, and the verdict is enthusiastically favorable.
