DELECTABLE AND DELIGHTFUL

The atmosphere sets the right mood, it's Royksopp, nothing more to say, everything has already been said, but perhaps they have never been considered in the discussions of bourgeois journalists, the live "What Else Is There", opens the live CD by the Norwegian electronic group and initiates a music party that spreads colors all over the ceiling, collecting a series of sounds that fade into the air and layering an ethereal voice of the friend Kate Havneik which perfectly immerses itself into the French dance base.
The first track lays down the rules of the CD which will repeat throughout the course of the remaining 8 songs the album comprises.
Then starts the determined and fearless "only This moment", an impressive mix of many musical cultures and various influences that Mr. Brundtland and Berge have absorbed during their lives.
The warm voice mixes with the elegant one, psychedelic noises with post-decadent electronic noises that fixate and embody the "royksoppian" musical thought, seeking an elaborate atmosphere that floats in the air.
The remixed version of "Remind Me" plays, nothing to add, great synthesis of sounds, fantastic driving rhythm that marks a forefront place in the journey proposed by the Norwegian duo.

The song that breaks the rhythm of the CD a bit is "Sparks", a song with a pop flavor and an ethereal voice that cradles you into the depths of auditory sensitivity. A beautiful song and a sought reproduction of Brian Eno's early intentions. This is the strength of Royksopp; knowing how to line up totally different coordinates that manage to stir up a sufficiently complete mixer.
"Poor Leno" has been revisited multiple times but never in such an instrumental form, in my opinion, the only negative note of a magnificent CD, the listener finds themselves facing too many reworked, improved, synthesized, re-mixed versions and the outcome is not all that grand.
With "Go Away" Royksopp set a will to express an electronics suitable even for youthful partying with sudden changes in tempo, they even welcome house fans into their chaotic world, the dance imprint they give this track is unmatched.
With the song "Alpha Male" they resume the features introduced at the beginning of the CD with extensive use of synth and a considered use of metrics, giving life to 8 minutes of chaotic yet smooth sounds focusing attention on the "skill" factor.

Thus, we arrive at the penultimate track, an electro reinterpretation of "Go With The Flow" by Queens Of The Stone Age, here they hit the mark and had a bit more cunning and courage broadening their horizons.
"Teppefal" is a song that surprised me; it's 58 seconds of pure electronics and fun opening the borders of electronics to the international stage without ever becoming commercial or hiding behind false preachings.
KEEP IT UP....
