Rodan was an American rock band from Louisville, Kentucky, best known for the 1994 album Rusty, produced by Bob Weston.

Members included Jeff Mueller, Jason B. Noble, Tara Jane O'Neil and Kevin Coultas. Rusty (1994) is their only studio album; it has been widely compared to Slint's Spiderland.

Reviews treat Rusty as a seminal, hard-to-categorize record blending quiet arpeggios and explosive outbursts. Critics repeatedly compare it to Slint's Spiderland while stressing Rusty’s unpredictability and psychological focus. The album's cover (butterfly in a jar) is read as an apt metaphor for trapped imagination.

For:Fans of post-rock, post-hardcore, Slint listeners, and those interested in 1990s underground US rock.

At that time, the man from the underground confined in the basement of "Spiderland" opened the door.
