I find myself spending words on a lost gem.

Many, upon reading about the artist in question, will wonder, "and who is this!?". Others will remember, "ah yes, the one from Gattomatto". I say - or rather write - that the person in question is a simple singer-songwriter from the Roman singer-songwriter school, a music craftsman, who after many contradictions offers a troubled work, but one full of wonder.
Wonder is the feeling one might experience when listening to sounds, words, and atmospheres with a vaguely drake-like tone. Many will smile. They'll call me crazy - or shall we say a fool?

But how can someone with a song like Gattomatto in their repertoire still be considered an artist?!? A record of wonder!? I know I'm out of touch.

I don't actually want to touch on this topic. Those few who are familiar with Bob's artistic journey will know how unique the whole journey has been.
I would rather give space to Dicembre, the true protagonist of this writing.
This song also has a very troubled journey behind it - ready for several years, it has only now seen the (!) light - and I find it impossible to discuss this piece without tying it to the video.
A video made entirely in clay, using stop-motion technique. Months and months and months of hard work - in which Angelini himself also participated - which led to the creation of an incredible video clip that cannot leave one indifferent upon the first viewing.

The song - and its related video - has been in rotation for several days. Perhaps I should use the conditional, should be. And yes, because today's music world has no room for these works, lost indeed, they don't attract. They are discographically unproductive, radio-wise scarce, and with indirect lyrics. Niche, in short.
For heaven's sake, nothing against niches, quite the contrary. But why not gratify, illuminate, bring to life a project that has something of qualitatively high caliber, above average, certainly. I don't know. Perhaps this Italy deserves dozens and dozens of Gattomatto and doesn't know what to do with various Dicembre.
Sad.

In January, the album will be released, the result of very intense work. It will be produced by Sergio della Monaca (a member of Planet Funk). The album is titled La Vista Concessa. I really hope - what a litany, I know - that it receives what it deserves.

May it not be a lost gem, there you have it.
