"JINGLE BELL JINGLE BLOOD" is a breath of fresh air for the indie (no-budget) cinema of our Beautiful Country.
Why??? Because in a country where all directors without a production house and without money dive blindly into the world of horror, these two artists as fresh as water decide to venture into a thrilling cross-over film; in fact, "JINGLE BELL JINGLE BLOOD" is not easily classifiable into just one genre, if we tried, we could define it as a thrillercomedyactionwesternsportivequotationalpoliziottesco...no, let's just forget it!
The beauty of this film is the madness that animates it and a simple story that composes it: "A madman who believes he is Santa Claus escapes from the asylum of Casalpusterlengo to take revenge on his very idiotic psychiatrist, Dr. Filibustazzi (Roberto Albanesi) and bring blood (so to speak) and terror (again, so to speak) to the streets of the town in Lodi. Only a cop without blemish (so to speak) and without fear (again, so to speak) will try to stop him."
As mentioned, many independent Italian directors decide to plunge into purely horror productions, whereas the "NEW OLD STORY FILM CASALPUSTERLENGO" here raises the bar and tries new ways and a new style of film, with all its flaws, shot without even a shadow of a euro but with imagination on its side. An imperfect and sometimes slow film which however has (as repeatedly specified) the merit of always catching the viewer off guard who can't help but be swept away for 90 minutes in a whirlwind of madness/sympathy like few experiences seen in the peninsular underground film circuit.
A film worth watching even just to disconnect the brain for a good hour and a half, thinking that out there, there is someone who with few and small means manages to do many great things.
