Review of Robbie in Bologna 20/1/2023
It is 9:10 PM when after the opening act by Lufthaus, Robbie Williams arrives, the ex-Take That member who struts in as the king of pop!
We are 25 thousand fans for the first global date of his tour celebrating 25 years of superb career with and without Take That (he started with them in 1990)!!!
After an arrival met with a general roar, he makes us dance with "Let Me Entertain You," then, full of energy, he moves on to an 80s cover, "Land of 1,000 Dances," saying that despite the long COVID, he remains a great performer!
A journey of songs ranging from 1990 to 2022, including the most well-known from "Feel" to "Come Undone", passing through "Rock DJ", and the beautiful "Tripping", "Candy" and "Monsoon"!
Amazing scenography, sublime choreography, flirtatious interactions from the orchestra and backup singers as well.
The crowd screams for two continuous hours, it’s delirium, there's not a moment of pause, even a Karaoke where we all sing along!
Despite the first global date, there's no cherry on top, Kylie Minogue is missing for the historic duet of "Kids" from the year 2000 at the beginning of the millennium, but Robbie tries to sing it divinely, succeeding!
Many other songs, a few chats with the audience he touches, flirts, and smiles bringing us back, why not, to those legendary 90s when we all wanted, just like now, to be Robbie!!!!!!
More historic pieces lead to the grand finale with "She’s the One" and "Angels"!!!!!
He doesn’t abandon us though, instead, he makes us sing a cappella other hits and then disappears into thin air as Madonna would!!!!!
Tonight at the Unipol Arena, it will be repeated, but this first date remains one of the most beautiful concerts of my life, where past and present met: thank you, Robbie. See you soon!!!!!
