LA RECENSIONE

Premise: first review. They will all be more or less like this: short but intense.

Robin Hood (2010) by Ridley Scott, with Russell Crowe.

I expected curly-haired Little John armed with a club and he wasn't there (or better yet, he was there, but was a graying dandy with an improbable dubbing).

I expected Sherwood and it wasn't there.

I expected blind butlers and they weren't there.

Hmm.

Well done, but the ending coincides with the moment you say, "ok, here comes the good part.”

Nothing to do with Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, with Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman, nor with the Disney cartoon.

Summary by Bot

This review of Ridley Scott's 2010 Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe expresses surprise at key deviations from classic versions. The reviewer notes missing iconic elements, like the traditional Sherwood setting and familiar characters. Although the film is well made, the ending feels premature, missing the payoff expected from the story. It's a distinct take that differs from popular adaptations like Prince of Thieves and the Disney cartoon.

The travesty presented to us this time around.

A 150-minute film that put to sleep three, I say three, times those who accompanied me to the theater.
