LA RECENSIONE

A story of love and friendship, where mystery coincides with truth, where music reigns over memories, capable of awakening memories of a distant past, which perhaps wasn't so distant after all?

"This music is for the women who have the memory of the world in their eyes"... and here, after just a few notes played by that mysterious violinist, gray and distant images involuntarily flowed through that young girl's mind? Little girls dressed in rags running in the darkness of a corridor, the face of a mother streaked with tears... only a few images are enough to make her realize that that violinist, who emerged from the shadow of the night, could have explained many things to her?

Three lives, three youths... a single love, a unique passion: music. The same for which they will part ways, a passion that goes beyond every obstacle, every sacrifice, even beyond death...

What can I say... a unique film... set against the historical backdrop of Prague in '68, in that fateful August for Czechoslovakia and the entire world... Difficult times... The years when Jews knew no peace and serenity... That peace and serenity that only the three musicians managed to perceive through music...

A father who errs, who makes many mistakes, who will only in the end manage to rebuild what he had divided in life? he who will be the author of a piece for two voices... for two brothers...

A continuous passionate and harmonious vortex that evokes those wounds and those distant memories that no one will ever heal... "Canone inverso"... the passionate, overwhelming composition that accompanies the entire cinematic work, the sequence of events that will be decisive in the lives of the three youths... Their eternal challenge... A canon... a melody sung by that young mother left alone, abandoned by her husband because he was too naive to take on family responsibilities... and a violin that will be the key to everything... that will be the explanation of why the canon was composed for two voices...

A film that is nothing short of exceptional, capable of moving, that exalts courage and the desire to act, a witness to a difficult time where nothing is impossible, where the desire to react, oppose, and rebel was a privilege for the few... In short, truly unique!!!!!
