Rhythm Pigs are an American punk/hardcore trio formed in El Paso and active in the 1980s. Members named in contemporary coverage include Ed Ivey (voice, bass), Greg Adams (guitar) and Jay Smith (drums). Their self-titled debut was released in 1984.

Debut album 'Rhythm Pigs' (1984) is widely reviewed as a powerful, expressionist hardcore record. The follow-up 'Choke On This' (1986) is discussed as less intense. A related act, Top Jimmy & The Rhythm Pigs, recorded 'Pigus Drunkus Maximus'. The band relocated from El Paso toward the San Francisco scene in the 1980s (as noted in reviews).

DeBaser hosts two reviews that praise Rhythm Pigs' 1984 self-titled debut as a powerful, expressionist hardcore record. The follow-up Choke On This (1986) is described as less intense and more revivalist. A related review covers Top Jimmy & The Rhythm Pigs' Pigus Drunkus Maximus, capturing L.A. bar-band energy.

Human Drama, the absolute masterpiece of the album, inaugurated by a very gloomy slide-guitar, dragged with weight on the tracks of a wave-blues illuminated by neon, only to stall in a chorus that is worth a shrug.
