The number 3 seems to appeal to the Modenese band Rev Rev Rev:
3 are the long plays produced so far.
3 are the years that separate each one.
3 are the Revs in their name.
3 not 3.
In their previous records, one could hear the evolution from a sound very close to My Bloody Valentine, through purely noise skirmishes and Velvet-ian mantras.
In Kykeon, it can be said that post-punk has had a significant influence; the sound becomes heavy, and despite the female voice dissolving this noise clamp, there are truly dark moments.
If the opening track (Waiting For Godel) may remind one of the Jesus Lizard, the deeper you go into the rabbit hole, the more you begin to be enveloped by a thick fog where the references are lost and expanded: A Place to Bury Strangers (Catching a Blade) and Sabbath-ian echoes (Gate Of The Dark Female).
A work that looks strongly towards the United States, besides the already mentioned names, we can add Sonic Youth, Medicine, Drop Nineteens, and many others.
The best moments are when the songs lose their footholds, and you are submerged, lulled, and hypnotized (Summer Clouds).
We are certainly talking about one of the bands that has best valued and evolved nugaze, an Italian band, no less.
