LA RECENSIONE

This time a beautiful voice was not enough to bring another success, the emotional direction that Renato Zero tried to convey to this album of covers and originals released in 2000 gets lost in the multitude without noting any novelties.

The first song, "Il pelo sul cuore," though beautiful, remains fixed on 4 piano notes. De André is so talented that his songs never sound out of place, among which the following "La canzone di Marinella," unlike Modugno: only he could sing his songs, so "Tu sì na cosa grande" loses its meaning when sung merely poetically. Meanwhile, "Le mie donne" is reheated soup previously prepared by Renato himself. Another cover, "Vedrai vedrai/lontano lontano" by Tenco, this time flows smoothly, fitting perfectly with "Il mio mondo/il nostro concerto/la musica è finita" by Umberto Bindi, and with "Anche per te" by Battisti... Renato begins to appear in the coloring of brief statements in "Quello che non ho detto," guiding the listener through empty rooms where remnants and impressions of days await their authors, well arranged with the last covers thanks to verses like these: "Quello che non ho detto, regola il flusso di ogni emozione, si coniuga facilmente, con le strofe di una canzone/Dirsi tutto fino in fondo, se non soffri non cresci più/Se la verità fa male, più di tanta ipocrisia, che sia meglio perdonarsi, che voltarsi e andare via."

"La Zeronave" is captivating as it contrasts with the flow of the previous ones, it seems like the march of the seven dwarfs. The peculiar hallmark is also marked by the last two songs, precisely the duet with Mina of the title track, which delves into the theme in the regretful verses, although in the unison parts Renato's voice is not heard. "Via dei martiri" is in my opinion the most beautiful of the album together with "Quello che non ho detto"; the unmistakable prose, farcical and desolate worthy of the author, enriched by rock effects that give the right place to the beautiful voice. Here are the words: "Lavorate fratelli finché il padre sazio non è, non cambiate canale votate comprate anche se, vi toccherà travestirvi da babbo natale anche a voi, aspettando una tregua annunciata che non verrà mai..."

Giving a negative judgment to the album is not easily argued, after all, some songs do not suit Renato Zero at all, as he failed to give them new life; and some of his own songs seem like remakes of himself. The rest is very beautiful but compromised by these discordances.

Summary by Bot

Renato Zero's 2000 album 'Tutti Gli Zeri Del Mondo' blends covers and original songs with emotional intent, but struggles to bring fresh elements. While the voice remains beautiful, some covers lose their original impact, and certain songs feel like reworkings of previous material. Notable highlights include the duet with Mina and tracks like 'Via dei martiri' and 'Quello che non ho detto.' Despite shortcomings, parts of the album remain captivating and well arranged.
