LA RECENSIONE

The [re: jazz] project reaches its third production, excluding [re: mix]. The evident difference compared to the first two albums is the limited presence of guests supporting the now well-established core band, ready to take a risk and fly.

The overture is carioca, with strong shades, like a ray of sunshine piercing through the cold autumn on Ku-damm, a sign that certain sounds do not belong to assigned meridians and that the greenhouse effect isn't as disastrous as it seems.
In the orchestral "People Hold On", Inga Luhing's voice lights up the scene and powerful horns alternate with bass riffs in perfect Cotton Club style.
A sax loop caressed by soft guitar notes marks "Not About Me" while waiting for Inga's voice to resume whispering in "Back Home", a song co-written with the group's pianist Mathias Vogh.
Very beautiful is the cover of "Promise Land", light-years away from the mood accelerations of Cappuccino Kid.
The falsettos of Ernesto (guest star) and the counterpoints of "Too Many Holes" reveal the nature of these guys who play jazz and have also grown thanks to Steely Dan.
New cover on track 7, "Rock It" by Herbie Hancock. Everything is very cool, as per the script; a reverent performance in perfect jazz style.
"Gabrielle" (by Roy Davis Jr) is masterfully interpreted by Alice Russel's voice and is perhaps the best moment of the album, along with the closing track "Plastic Dreams".

These tracks flow like a gentle morning caress and "simply" promise a good day.
