THE REVIEW

A scorching summer day without the sea, without the beach, without fun, and without chicks... naturally, I was surfing the internet for the most stupid reason and... BOOM... a blow to the heart!
RED HOT LIVE!!! Finally, a real live album recorded in London in the most famous park in the world, and I was super excited...

Yeah...the Peppers, in Rome, put on a show not so much because of the setlist (By The Way, just to name one), but for the atmosphere they managed to create in that venue of... but what of ice... of FIRE!
Anyway, back to us. "LIVE IN HYDE PARK"! During the first listen, I was in a state of shock, something related to transcendence or something like that, for the simple reason that: "LIVE IN HYDE PARK" is. It is in the sense that it exists. Once I got over the shock of the first listen and left the world of being and idea... a second shock... negatively.

Where am I going with this? The Red Hot have never been musically thrilling in live shows. In Rome, they surprised me for the involvement they managed to create and for the energy... Here things change, they are not there, only the music remains of them. So their worst aspect in the live show, so... THEREFORE.
Frusciante falls asleep on the instrument during the intro and... we forgive him! But when the songs start, he's really awful... plays like a child.
Antony's voice is crap!
The drums sound uncoordinated... and thank goodness for Flea, who manages to maintain a decidedly better pace compared to the others
, perhaps too much better! An entire track of the second CD is completely dedicated to him! What effects!
The drummer also (sorry, I can't remember his name) performs a tribute medley to the legendary Led Zeppelin, Queen, and U2!

For the rest, the usual nauseating mush... the usual MTV greatesthitslized setlist... “BY THE WAY, FORTUNE FADED...”
There are also gems like “AROUND THE WORLD", "GIVE IT AWAY", "CALIFORNICATION", "UNDER THE BRIDGE”...
Then two "listenable" unreleased tracks: “ROLLING SLY STONE” and “LEVERANGE OF SPACE”.
However, there's not even a shadow of “Mother’s Milk” and “Uplift Mofo”...
If you're die-hard fans, by now you should already have it. If you're just curious, don't get it... better do yourself a favor with a "Blood Sugar Sex Magic"!

Summary by Bot

The review discusses the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Live In Hyde Park album with mixed feelings. It praises Flea's performance and the live atmosphere previously experienced in Rome but criticizes Frusciante's and Anthony's contributions. The setlist includes famous hits but lacks earlier classics, making it less appealing for casual listeners. Die-hard fans might appreciate it more, but newcomers should consider other albums like Blood Sugar Sex Magic.
