"Around The House" is Matthew Herbert's invitation to discover his own sound universe and personal interpretation of house music. Initially released by Phonography in 1998 and following the success of "Bodily Functions", it was reissued by !k7 in 2001.
Exciting and varied, deep and enveloping, with evident research work behind each track, it will leave you mesmerized from the first listen.
Hypnotic, sensual, refined groove.
Without realizing it, you'll find yourself nodding with eyes closed, to the rhythm of delicate house beats achieved by sampling daily life noises. You'll be captivated by the ethereal voice of Dani Siciliano intertwining with these unconventionally crafted soundscapes, which will become a hallmark of the author's style.
As can be heard in subsequent albums, up to the recent "Plat du jour" (perhaps excessively pretentious and cerebral).
It is recommended for nighttime listening and without moderation.
