Massive and above all raw.

This in 2 words is the stoner-rock of 7Zuma7, a Dutch band from Eindhoven, who in 1997 with their debut EP (self-titled or "untitled" depending on how one sees it) launch 5 tracks at us like 5 stones, which even if few, together form a veritable avalanche.

The smell of dust is felt throughout the scant 23 minutes of the record, and it's also palpable the ghost of Kyuss that wanders like a Virgil with a long beard and hair and tattered pants, taking Jeery Van Eyck's band by the hand for a tour in the desert paradise of the sandiest stoner.

The first "Velvet Slide" is, in my opinion, the most beautiful track, where John Peate’s big guitar saturates the air with its coarse and compact breath, even more paced is the following "Blue T.S.", while "Hot Stuff" highlights the excellent rhythm section of Jacco Van Rooij (drums) and Nick Sanders (bass) and offers an almost singable refrain.

Surely not a hymn to originality, but certainly this by 7Zuma7 is a good EP especially for fans of the genre.

What can I say... ZOT!
