Peruvian band formed in 2001, in 2008 they released this album with a not quite ZOT... title.

13 songs (+ 2 bonus tracks) totaling 42 minutes offering good hardcore, robust and well-recorded, an aspect that's often lacking in many South American underground bands.

The vocals in the native language are quite "quirky" for most of us used to different rhythms at least in this genre, but overall it doesn't fall short at all, perhaps it's the opening track "La Venganza De Los Hartos" that's least fitting when it comes to vocal arrangements.

Instead, "Ellos" and "Sinfonia Insurrecta" are nice, very similar in the guitar riff; also enjoyable is the slower "Desaparecido", where many former South American dictators are named followed by the shouts "asesino" or "criminal" that fade out at the end.

The album never really loses its tone, also mentioning the raw "Vindicador", the peculiar "Oprimida" sung with multiple voices, and "Mala Reputacion" where a ska passage makes an appearance that's not very successful.

In my opinion, Ekidad is a good HC band, with good sounds and lyrics of strong social protest.

ZOT!
