Guys, just the other night I went to Lawrence (a venue in Lecce) to see a concert by a band of my friends (as well as my mentors) who were presenting their first album titled "Runnin From Elm Street".

Surely none of you will know the band, so a little introduction is needed. The Rayon is a band of 80's Hard Rock, specifically from the subgenre Street Metal, their style is heavily influenced by artists like Bon Jovi, Guns 'n' Roses, and Motley Crue. It's quite hard and fast. The huge guitar riffs shot from his axe by the band's guitarist Ryan Riddit (A. Randazzo) are of an elevated technical level, as are the numerous tapping solos that delight our ears from the aforementioned Ryan. Giulio, the singer's voice, is very pleasant to listen to and can reach very high pitches. Ciro, the bassist, manages to provide very fast and technical bases that could easily fit into the metal genre of bands like Black Label Society, while the clear and clean drumming of drummer Johnatan completes the picture of an excellent band that in my opinion could go far.

Unfortunately, I don't have any images or songs of the band on my computer, but I'll try through a good review to make you understand the excellent work done by the four. The album opens with a very fast track, the band's most famous song, I'm talking about "Fast Like A Bullet", I swear, hearing this song once was enough to have the chorus stuck in my head for weeks. As I already said, the song is very fast with a lot of 80s sounds reminiscent of the "Early Days" of Motley Crue. The drumming is spot on, and the very fast tapping solo is the jewel of this song, which in its 6-minute duration opens our ears to what is an excellent album. Right after comes the second track, the title track "Runnin From Elm Street", a gunshot and after a short and slow intro, a new wave of solid chords accompany us in a very valid but more melodic and less hard song compared to the previous one. The chorus is always catchy and mischievous, really good piece that lasts 6:24. After the first two tracks, we find ourselves listening to the remaining two. Now comes "Love Won’t Break Tonight", the song is appreciated by everyone, but I just can't bring myself to like it. I find it bland and useless. The instrumentation and execution skills decrease and do not compare with the rest of the album, boring and banal as a ballad (because it is a ballad) and scarce and useless to be identified as hard rock 5:48 of pure boredom, and now we find ourselves listening to the melodious "Blue Eyes Full Of Lies", this undervalued gem by everyone is a track that I really like. First of all, even though it's a ballad, it manages to have Hard Rock tones that are sometimes even too hard for a Ballad, yet it still retains the sweetness and melodiousness for which every ballad is famous. Excellent musical performance, the track is not boring and manages to be pleasant and suitable for any occasion.

Thus closes this first work by Rayon, I believe that as a debut it is stunning so much so that in Lecce, the Rayon managed to perform even at Wallace (the Whiskey A Go Go of Lecce) attracting a good crowd of people, excellent and very valid tracks, the work is really good. I GIVE ALL MY BEST WISHES TO THE RAYON for a future with a smiling and lucky Goddess on their side, it will be difficult to get hold of this album, but if you have friends or acquaintances among the Salentines, I recommend having them provide it to you. This is the hidden gem among my CDs.
