If you loved W.A.S.P., you cannot resist purchasing "Violent New Breed." But even if you've never bowed down to Blackie Lawless, you can still spend your money to get your hands on the album, because it is a sizzling work.

The initial reference is justified by the fact that Randy Piper was the guitarist and co-founder of W.A.S.P., and even with his Animal, he carries on a sound that links back to the mother band. The compositions are rough, yet always catchy, aggressive, straddling current hard rock and solid heavy metal (albeit traditional), with mid-tempos or partially sped-up ones, bothersome riffs, and arrangements (including keyboard) that give an epic/horror/urban touch to the tracks (shall we say Rob Zombie?).

It's a pity that in such a decidedly intriguing context, they've included that out-of-time ballad entitled "Turn And Walk Away," otherwise, they wouldn't have missed a single beat.
