THE REVIEW

With this review, the discography of Rancid on Debaser should be concluded.

After the huge success of "...And Out Come The Wolves," infused with Ska, Rancid released in 1998 "Life Won't Wait", an unjustly underrated album by critics; they said Rancid had changed too much and would henceforth only make Reggae...To these critics, I want to say one thing...But come on, have you listened to the album?!...Does it seem like there's only Reggae in it?!...Yes, exactly, I'm reviewing this album to refute the critics' scores and those of many other people; the album cannot be considered a completely Reggae album.

The album takes two paths, that of Street/Hardcore and that of Reggae, it's an album with many facets; the album features several "pogabile" songs, like "Bloodclot" (my favorite Rancid song), "Something In The World Today", "1998", "Black Lung", "Warsaw", and "The Wolf".
It also follows the path of Reggae, with beautiful songs like the title track "Life Won't Wait", the cheerful "Coppers", "Cocktails",  "Hooligans" and the double-personality song "Hoover Street", which alternates: Punk chorus/Reggae verse and so on until the solo.

The album also contains disappointing songs, which in my opinion Rancid could have done without, like "Crane Fist""Backslide", "Wrongful Suspicion" or "New Dress". The remaining songs ("Who Would've Thought", "Corason De Oro", "Lady Liberty", "Turntable", "Cash Culture And Violence", and "Leicester Square") leave me somewhat indifferent.

An album that possesses many facets, indeed it's almost impossible to talk about this album without mentioning the songs, but it remains a very interesting album, especially for those who seek something always different in Punk.
