In 2003, after the international success of "Mutter" and a year after the release of "Reise Reise", the members of the East Berlin sextet, to keep their fans "warm", decided to release a DVD that broadly recapped the work done up to that point.
This DVD features all the music videos released, some live performances, the "Making of" some of the videos, and the various advertisements and trailers distributed in Germany, totaling about 3 hours. The DVD begins with the music videos, presented in chronological order. Both videos of "Du Riechst So Gut" are not well executed: the 1995 one is a sort of presentation of the band members with the "Herzeleid" album cover look, while the 1998 one is a nineteenth-century story that, however, appears crude and gaudy.
The video for "Seemann" on the other hand is well executed: it appears balanced, with an artistic flair, where the members are "Sailors". The video for "Rammstein" is a mix of scenes from the film "Lost Highway" (whose song is part of the soundtrack) and snippets of a live performance. Then come the videos from the "Sehnsucht" album, namely "Engel" and "Du Hast", both inspired by Quentin Tarantino's films, where the band appears as a united group of men in suits and ties, all very self-assured.
Next is the video for "Stripped", showing images of Olympic athletes from various nationalities, engaged in various sports. The video section ends with the music videos from "Mutter", namely "Sonne", "Links 2 3 4", "Ich Will", the title track and "Feuer Frei!". The video for "Sonne" is a reinterpretation of the fairy tale "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves", where the band members are the dwarves and Snow White is actually very evil, forcing them to work to find the "Gold Dust". The video for "Links 2 3 4" is the typical story of the "Struggle for Survival" between ants and insects. The video for "Ich Will" shows the members being rewarded for their work.
The video for "Mutter" is perfectly in sync with the song's lyrics, where there is a child artificially created who is locked up and feels the need to have a "Mother". The last video, "Feuer frei!" features images from the film xXx.
The live performances continue, always in chronological order. The first features the songs "Herzeleid" and "Seemann" performed during the "100 Jahre Rammstein" concert in 1996 in Berlin, where the band appears young and still a little inexperienced, but the first "pyrotechnic games" such as flaming hats and small explosions can already be seen. It continues with "Spiel Mit Mir" performed in 1997 in Dusseldorf, where the band has a colder look, and the pyrotechnic effects increase: at the beginning, in front of the bass drum, there is another fake bass drum that catches fire, opens and from there the singer, Till, appears.
Then there are "Heirate Mich" and "Du Hast", performed splendidly, with the help of the audience, during the "Rock Am Ring Festival" again in '98. An excerpt from the monumental "Live Aus Berlin" could not be missed; whose performance of "Sehnsucht" speaks for itself. At the "Big Day Out Festival" in Sydney the group performs "Weisses Fleisch" and "Asche zu Asche": the members appear more confident and pyrotechnic effects increase: flamethrowers, flaming microphone stands, and "spark-shooting" shoes. It concludes with the live performances of "Ich Will" and "Links 2 3 4", performed in 2001 at the "Velodrom" in Berlin.
This is followed by the advertising trailers for "Du Hast", "Links 2 3 4" and "Mutter", followed by the documentary "Achtung Blitzkrieg!". This latter is a 10-minute feature that contains television networks' opinions on Rammstein, fans' impressions, and some live footage, concluding with an interview with the drummer and guitarist, reaching its peak when the reporter asks the two about Celine Dion and David Hasselhoff, and they look at him strangely. The DVD, after over 2 hours of playback, concludes with the "Making of" the music videos for "Du Hast", "Du Riechst So Gut '98", "Sonne", "Links 2 3 4" and "Ich Will", which show interviews and opinions gathered during the production of the videos.
