THE REVIEW

What distinguishes music from noise and claustrophobia? Nothing, judging by this work from Raison D'Etre, a one-man band that goes by the name of Peter Andersson. It starts with the cover. A one-way trip to a desolate place, not gloomy, but one that chills the blood.

[small interlude: the site from which the cover is taken is www.abandoned-places.com. Visit it because it's fantastic!!]

I would love to do a track-by-track, but it would be like "disjointing" this fantastic work. Some will find it boring, others excessive, because only the "abandoned souls" will appreciate this "requiem" dedicated to them.

5 long tracks, sometimes extremely long (in the final track Becoming the void of nothingness it exceeds a quarter of an hour), each a stage of a journey within the deepest desolation, the black solitude. Another brilliant release for ColdMeat, another incredible album by Andersson... what does the future hold?
