I'm not selfish, I'm not egocentric, or at least I don't believe it's such a dominant trait when I discuss with someone. I talk, I talk too much, that's true; maybe people like it or maybe they don't, nobody tells me. I am ignorant, certainly, perhaps one of the few certain things about me. I am also a person so insecure that I have the ability to be sure, who knows.
Yesterday I was coming home from work at 10 PM, as I am tonight, but yesterday I wanted to take a longer drive: in the car, I had a song by Today Is The Day, I don't remember which one, two prostitutes really too beautiful to be on the street scream as much as the song, I drive straight ahead. Then I drive along the river and go up the hill only to come back down and observe, once again, the Venetian plain. A very slow descent, closing and opening my eyes, the stretches of lights, the total darkness above the sacred river, the window open and an air unstably cold and warm; pre-summer sensations, celebratory, intrinsic within me.

We are talking once again about Jade Tree, or rather, we are talking about the co-founder of Jade Tree. Post-hardcore / emo-core with alternative rock inflections, the much more suffering voice, never shouting, but always on the verge of collapsing to the ground. A band born right without the needed publicity that follows the path of Jawbreaker and Samiam.

Sometimes I think about it, but what was so special about the '90s? There's an underlying melancholy that brings us back to distant years, considered null at the moment, and important when they are now small pins in the head, it just hurts to think about them.

Emo for hardcorers.
