A flood of percussion, rhythms, joyful yet cynical progressions in their hidden complexity such that after several listens they culminate in an erudite but absent sedimentation. The musical carpet is ephemeral, enchanting because it cannot be grasped, yet so dense and engaging that it sparks genuine joy in the heart.

And thank goodness the musical impact is brief, the mini LP of not even a quarter of an hour is more than sufficient. Five frenetic and dark tracks that mix underground pop punk wave and ride with unruly intelligence in their compulsive presentation. But reading the notes on the back cover, we're in safe hands: Happy Squid label, Pasadena CA.

And then the protagonists: John Talley-Jones, Kevin Barrett, Jay Jackson, Debbie Spinelli, Rob Malone, Michael Kors, all people who were also involved with 17 Pygmies, Trotsky Icepick, 100 Flowers, Urinals, if you know what I mean.

Live concerts with incredible energy, four of the six members forming a propulsive team of beaters among drums, drums, congas, and more. An irresistible whirlwind of blows, an exhausting result but everyone is happy in the end.

The soul laughs... "off course," naturally.
