Who are Quercia? A band from Iglesias formed at the beginning of the year that is about to end, and in September they released Non è vero che non ho più l'età. An album (it's unclear whether it's an EP or an LP, but it doesn't really matter) composed of eight tracks with a total length of 20 minutes, alternating between shouted and abrasive songs to more melodic and occasionally acoustic ones. Nostalgia and many thoughts spoken out loud. Well-written and melancholic lyrics, quite adolescent. An emo album that ranges from indie to post-hardcore, with brief instrumental parts and songs just over a minute long, a feature that helps the album flow quickly without boring. Whether they are shouted or sung softly, it doesn't really matter, because the sweet sadness they evoke is always present, capable of dragging you inside, taking you by the hand and accompanying you on a journey that, even if it recounts episodes present in each of our lives, things that happen daily, from ended loves, to disappointments, or any other thing, it never becomes trivial. And this should be taken into account, just as the fact that Quercia has shown that perhaps it's not really due to age, but to some other thing that we can't identify, perhaps, simply, the desire to do certain things, to be in certain places, fades. And with this serene admission of guilt, the band opens up a promising future ahead of them.
