Openly fascinated by the Anglo-Saxon alternative scene as well as by the most captivating and intense female voices of the last generation, Queimada arrives at their debut album after years of frenetic live activity.
With "The Moocher," their viscerally rock sound is supported by guitars that are sometimes mellifluous, other times decidedly more aggressive, leaving the center stage to the warm and raspy vocals of Mariella Ranieri. The word of mouth created around the band thanks to their explosive live performances generated exceptional media interest, which reverberated online with a frenetic download of the first tracks released from the album. The meeting with the X-Fade Music label and the perfect harmony with the label's spirit then led the band to choose it for the release of "The Moocher," the album that collects the best of the first part of the career of the Bari quartet. The constantly changing rhythms, the engaging musicality, and the surprising melodic solutions devised by Queimada represent the heart of these eleven tracks; a wonderfully heterogeneous collection, in which pop sweetness is scratched by the impetus of the guitars and the noise clamor breaks against the velvet of the lyrics. Enhancing such a balanced work were the keyboards and synths of Raffaele Stellacci (Coldness) and the impeccable production of the X-Fade Studio.
"The Moocher" is a dazzling album that showcases a band in a state of grace, capable of maintaining even in the studio the extraordinary emotional impact of their live performances.
