THE REVIEW

Needless to say who the Queen are, (you'd throw stones at me just for saying it), in fact, I would like to talk to you specifically about a particular album; not much appreciated and not even much listened to in my opinion!

Well, the album in question is the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK of the film 'FLASH GORDON'; a soundtrack entirely performed by the legendary Queen, back in 1980. Let me state that to develop the following opinion on the album in question, I must have listened to it a hundred times over the course of a whole decade, since I got hold of it indeed!

The album is very varied with a thousand nuances, I would also say contemplative in some parts. The musical genres it spans are very wide and quite different from each other, only a group with the caliber of Queen could carry out something like this; it ranges from the emphatic and lysergic melodies of the track list (In the space capsule) then landing to the hypnotic tones of (Ming's Theme & The Ring). Passing through track lists from symphonic orchestras and arriving at the final (Flash's Theme Reprise/The Hero); the latter is a track list undeniably characterized by the typical rock/punk style in perfect Anglo-Saxon manner (also worth noting are some guitar riffs that lead back to the typical heavy sound of the early eighties, when heavy metal was not yet a fully defined genre; years 80/81)!!

In my opinion, this remains one of the most beautiful and full of feelings albums that Queen has ever made, I place it on the podium in my personal ranking dictated by my tastes in the Queen realm. I recommend listening to this unmissable work of the legendary British band, only after watching the eponymous film; I guarantee it will be like watching it with your eyes closed. An adventurous ride just over 35 minutes long.

ENJOY AND HAPPY LISTENING.
