Disruptive like a bolt from the blue. Nasty, angry, determined, cheeky, and even fun. The PUP are all this and more. This year, they toured Europe opening for bands not even that much more famous than them, and they surely left an impression on the audience listening to them. These guys are not afraid to dare. Sure, no one invents anything new these days, but they do what they have to do, and they do it very well. The Dream Is Over is their latest effort, an album truly surprising in certain aspects, that keeps you glued from the first two tracks onwards, two mini tracks interconnected, with an acoustic intro that then erupts into a violent anger, all interpreted by a voice that almost reaches falsetto but fits perfectly with the style the band supports. The formula repeats itself several times throughout the album with renewed energy, an album which is not very long, which greatly aids the listening experience, ending with what should be the epic track "Pine Point," which perhaps doesn’t seem as such, but in the end, that’s okay. Because from the first listen, I never stopped smiling, and now I can't stop listening to it, singing it by heart, and that’s worth more than anything else.
