Punkreas - "Elettrodomestico" 1997

"Elettrodomestico" serves as a turning point in the artistic career of the Milanese band since from the subsequent album "Pelle", the ska sounds will take over. In fact, "Elettrodomestico" represents the last entirely punk album that Punkreas will release.

The songs sound-wise are practically all the same, with only a few changes from one song to another. Nevertheless, the album is good and consists of 10 songs:

1. "Sesto senso"

2. "Senza sicura" (where the theme of the overly obsessive surveillance of police at concerts that limit young people's rebellious spirit at concerts is addressed)

3. "Vulcani"

4. "Frecce Avvelenate" (a harsh attack on the Italian army and its customs)

5. "Il mercato del niente" (here Punkreas, not yet subdued by the power of record labels and MTV, give us a critique of American politics in Yugoslavia)

6. "Ambarabà" (this song can be considered the non-commercial version of "Canapa")

7. "Vegetale"

8. "Psichiatria" (accuses doctors of prescribing drugs in massive doses to people, causing addiction)

9. "Chiapas" (where the former Italian prime minister is accused of having sold the country to the USA during his first term)

10. "Ultima notte" (a humorous adventure of a man who, when the television breaks, becomes free from the yoke of news broadcasts and advertising)

In conclusion, I would recommend this album to anyone who wants to listen to the early Punkreas. The original and very spontaneous lyrics are to be appreciated in this album.

It lacks incisiveness, this third offering from Punkreas, and incisiveness, in a punk band with a teenage target, is everything.

In between, twenty-five minutes of boredom.
