Four reviews chart Pungent Stench from their 1990 debut’s abrasive, melody-free assault to the gloriously degenerate Been Caught Buttering, through the cult EP Dirty Rhymes and Psychotronic Beats, up to Ampeauty’s sleazy death/doom/stoner blend. Writers stress grotesque lyrics, shocking artwork, and raw power. Martin Schirenc (vocals/guitar) and Mr. Stench (drums) are highlighted. Overall tone: enthusiastic praise for extreme, splatter-soaked death metal.
