LA RECENSIONE

A semi-unknown British band released a semi-unknown new-metal album in 1998 on Earache. Said band presumably broke up and disappeared. And it's a pity because Greed is a great album, distilling to the minimum all those heaps of nu-metal bands (or so-called) that want to seem tough and mean just because they throw in a few burps, some scratches, and some power chords. If you want power, speed (not pointless and always well-calibrated), and aggressiveness, listen to this.

Well-structured tracks, (almost) never banal, fitting vocals, songwriting that would make much more famous bands jealous (considering that Pulkas were sucked into the cosmic void of oblivion). New(nu)-metal was elevated to the stars, then immediately dragged into the mud, and now it seems to be drowning in it again. But a nice life preserver like Pulkas wouldn't have hurt anyone, believe me.

Recommendation: listen to it.
Hope: dear Pulkas, could you come back to record something for all our enjoyment? Or at least to please me?
