When it comes to extreme metal, few bands can truly be considered worthy of admiration like Psychofagist. The trio from Novara has been working hard for years, creating great productions, a sound that’s increasingly unique, and a reputation that has reached the entire European territory through countless shows in every corner of the Old Continent. To understand the quality of this project, just think of the "9 Psalms Of An Anti-Music To Come" split, which saw them collaborating with the much more well-known Poles from Relapse Records, Antigama.

Despite having all the elements that push a band towards better horizons, Psychofagist has always kept a low profile, collaborating with underground labels and often self-financing, a DIY approach that perfectly embodies the mood of these musicians, constantly moving to achieve satisfaction that goes far beyond signing a contract with a random major label that doesn't even know who you are. Awaiting the new album - expected for 2013 - here we are facing "Unique.negligible.forms", a 7" transparent vinyl in a super limited edition, obviously self-produced. What can be said? Musically, they are machines of war, skilled at intertwining dense jazz and grind soundscapes, all enclosed in a term they love, avant-core. Three tracks recorded on the spot, straightforward, fast, and violent, as the Psychofagist tradition demands. Talking about harmony in their case is almost pointless as the three musicians fit perfectly within the tracks, with a sort of invisible scheme dictating each other's timing.

A work destined solely for those who love this type of music, decidedly inaccessible but rich in talent, as demonstrated by their choice of covering a masterpiece like "Bonehead" by Naked City. It is often said about them that if they had been American, they would have enjoyed the kind of attention they never received in Italy... It's probably true. Little masters of sonic devastation, proudly made in Italy.
