In the world, but much more often in Italy, there is a curious phenomenon that has always accompanied music in the mainstream. That is, a group or a singer produces a strong single that brings them a certain popularity, often sacrificing quality for quantity (of records sold). But if this artist or group then tries to do something else of quality, they are still stuck with that label tied to that piece, perhaps constructed specifically to make a name for themselves.

In Italy, among the groups that have suffered the most from this strange phenomenon are Prozac+. After reaching a certain popularity in 1997 with the single "Acido," they tried to break through with other singles, without much success (except "Un Minuto per sempre" in 2002, which had decent success) and always remained with the reputation of the group that created "Acido - Acida," despite there being 3 more albums afterwards.

Since 2005, the group has been on a hiatus that continues to this day, excluding a special appearance during MTV Day 2007. Eva is involved with the Rezophonic, while Gianmaria and Elisabetta have joined the Sick Tamburo. The group is not officially disbanded, and many hope for their return to the scene. Partially to help those who are not well acquainted with Prozac+, this "Best Of Platinum Collection" has been released, under the EMI label, in 2007.

The various tracks (a whopping 22!) chronologically narrate the adventure of Prozac, starting from "Diversi", their first single, and arriving at "Gioia Nera", the title track of their last album from 2004. It passes through the various moments of the band, and the Best Of tells, both with the booklet and the disc, the comprehensive story of Prozac+, which for me are one of the most underrated bands in the Italian scene.

The stories told in the various tracks are often and willingly stories taken from the life of the three members, and the themes addressed are certainly not for everyone, as they often and willingly talk about drugs or problems that are not easily found in punk-pop lyrics. The album also tells the two main faces of Prozac, perhaps as few are capable, in alternating excellent moments of good punk-pop with tracks that might be more "slow," but not for this of lesser quality.

In short, a good album, which can help to understand what lies behind the phenomenon of Prozac+, and certainly a pleasant surprise for the detractors of this group and for people who today consider everything Punk-pop, neglecting those who, in the past, really did Punk-pop.
