"Promise And The Monster" is the title of a children's book. The protagonists of this story are a pony named Promise and a monster named (try to guess a little) Monster. A story about friendship and freedom.
"Promise And The Monster" is the name adopted by the Swedish Billie Lindahl for her musical project. She is a multi-instrumentalist discovered by José Gonzales (with whom she also shares the label, Imperial), for whom she opened many concerts.
"Transparent Knives" is her debut, between light and shadows.
Light, her harmonies built solely from the acoustic guitar and voice (see the opener "Sheets" or "Night Out") enriched in some episodes by other instruments, always played by her, such as the organ, the cello (the gothic atmospheres of "A Room With no View", the album's optimum), the flute, and the glockenspiel (the dreamy "Whiter").
Shadows, the sparse music caresses icy lyrics that narrate homicidal madness, paranoia, isolation. They are little ghosts that find no respite.
