The "Post Metal" bands crowding the music market are truly numerous, but very few manage to create truly top-notch material. This is the case with "Process Of Guilt," who, with their "Faemin," have managed to infuse so much poison and nightmare tension into the compositions that it's impossible not to be captivated. The "Tracklist" features a bunch of buzzing riffs, all at a slow pace but with passages of unprecedented tension and atmosphere. "Harvest" and the "Title Track" are slightly more direct pieces, with aggressive and dark riffs, yet never too intricate. On the contrary, "Cleanse" is "softer" for most of its duration but then builds a heavy and pounding riff that somehow maintains the same sense of dread. Special mention goes to the best track on the "Platter," the wonderful "Blindfold," which will set your soul on fire, leaving you helpless and addicted. Another positive aspect is the production, simultaneously clear and raw. The guitars and bass have a grinding buzz, while the drums are more tribal and raw compared to the past. A particular praise goes to the powerful voice of "Hugo Santos," whose tone contributes to giving the work an even greater impact. A weaker singer would have completely ruined the entire listening experience. In conclusion, "Faemin" is an album with very few weak points, which will drag you throughout its entire duration into an oblivion from which it will be difficult to return.
