"Screamadelica" is one of my all-time favorite albums, hands down.
When House music, mostly Acid House, meets Gospel and Dub, tracks like "Come Together" emerge.
The fact is as follows: it seems so easy, yet not everyone could achieve what Primal Scream did back in 1991.
10 monumental minutes. The simplicity of a steady 4/4 kick drum advancing slowly, an equally simple electric organ loop, the Dub rhythm of a bass, handclaps, and a female voice repeating "Come together as one." Nothing else is needed to make a song magical.
It invites us to embrace each other and become one, to gather collective strength in this life. It can only represent happy and peaceful moments spent in true friendship.
I am sure many of you will recall your adolescence through the songs of "Screamadelica," so I invite you to write me your personal experience.
Some prefer listening accompanied by MDMA or LSD. As far as I'm concerned, just the introduction of the track is enough to send me into orbit.
An ecstatic embrace.
