They sound like the Backyard Babies! This was my first reaction after listening to the first two songs of the album. All excited, I move on to the third (actually fourth, with the intro) song, Wild World. A soft riff à la Simple Plan starts, just so you know... After the initial disappointment, I listen to this song with more attention:
After getting over the minor confusion, I move on to Enemies, the next song. And here you perfectly understand the inspiration of Powerman 5000: the song seems like a tribute to the Backyard Babies and Street Punk Rock in general. Amazing. After listening to the other songs (among the most beautiful are All My Friends Are Ghosts and Walking Disaster) and after a brief spoken interlude of 25 seconds, there’s a little surprise, a typically country song! And, the icing on the cake, a live song, Heroes & Villains, the heaviest on the album.
In the end, I can confirm that the Powerman have moved from their old style to a Street Rock'n'Roll, executed perfectly. Spider One doesn't miss a beat in singing, the drums are always precise, the bass is never too invasive, and the two guitarists hold their own impressively with great riffs and solos (never too long).
What else to say? You never find a moment of boredom, maybe the first single (and the song that gives the album its name, Destroy What You Enjoy) is probably the worst song, repetitive and uninspired, but this is just a minor flaw in what is truly a masterpiece. If you love the Backyard Babies, you can't resist it.

10 Who Do You Think You Are? (03:01)
You don't wanna get crippled and cracked
But keep hanging on I'm gonna read the riot act
The truth is the truth a fact is a fact
And once you get gone you ain't coming back
I've head it all before just like and echo
So shut down the lights that's the end of the show
So take it from me it's time to let go
But there's one last thing that I need to know
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
I want to know before you gotta go
Who do you think you are?
It's time to relax just pull up a seat
You can't ever win 'cause you can't compete
I've been to every city on every street
I know all the people that you'd like to meet
Simple is the story there's no sub plot
Life ain't a movie it's just a snap shot
You try to do a little 'cause you can't do allot
So tell me again 'cause I just forgot
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
I want to know before you gotta go
Who do you think you are?
How does it feel to be one of the crowd?
Locked inside and you're never allowed
The sad truth of a life never lived
Is when it's over you've got nothing to give
(Come on! Alright! Again!)
Well there's one more thing that I need to know
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
I want to know before you gotta go
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
I want to know before you gotta go
Who do you think you are?
12 Miss America (04:01)
Fat people in shopping malls
Meet me at the big and tall
Not for sale but might be for rent
Raise up the flag on the circus tent
You might miss America when it's gone
You might miss America when it's gone
You might miss America, Paranoid hysteria
You might miss America when it's gone
When it's gone
Crap movies and shit TV
We got it all most defiantly
Lots of drugs and lots of guns
But no one seems to be having much fun
You might miss America when it's gone
You might miss America when it's gone
You might miss America, Paranoid hysteria
You might miss America when it's gone
When it's gone, when it's gone (yeah, yeah, yeah!)
Bring out your dead, let's see 'em smile
The last one left gets the top of the pile
Bring out your dead let's go for a walk
Everyone's afraid to throw the first rock
Bring out your dead, let's see 'em smile
The last one left gets the top of the pile
Bring out your dead let's go for a walk
Everyone's afraid to throw the first rock
Fire crack on the forth of July
You're dressing up in a suit and a tie
Starting wars all over the world
Nice place for a boy and a girl (that's right)
You might miss America when it's gone
You might miss America when it's gone
You might miss America, Paranoid hysteria
You might miss America when it's gone
When it's gone, when it's gone (yeah, yeah, yeah!)
